9 Days of Christmas (Dinners)

Since the 12th of December, Tapestry has held and hosted nine Christmas meals for the older people who attend our services. At least 140 individual dinners have been cooked across all nine events and a lot of fun had.

HOPWA House in Hornchurch cooked up three hearty dinners with all of the trimmings on the 12th, 20th and 22nd of December. On each day, our users were treated to a morning of fun, festive activities before sitting down to lunch itself. In the afternoon, live entertainment filled the hall courtesy of a local performer or entertainer.

Throughout the week commencing 18th December, Paines Brook Court held five Christmas Dinners – one on each day. Everyone that attended during this week took part in a range of Christmas-themed events before and after the big meal, including cake-making, carol-singing and fairy-tale quizzes.

Our Weekly Making Connections Club at Upminster Baptist Church also held its own Christmas lunch on the 18th of December. The sound of carols being sung echoed throughout the church in the morning, before we served up lunch and pulled a cracker or two in the afternoon – whats more, we also gave everybody who attended a Christmas card.

You can see all of our images from the meals on our Flickr account – click here to take a peek.

And lastly, from us all at Tapestry, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year
