Loneliness at Christmas

Professor Jane Cummings, NHS England’s Chief Nursing Officer, has warned that the combination of cold weather and loneliness could be bad for older people this winter.

It’s a well known fact that being lonely is not good for a person’s physical and mental health, and Tapestry’s two Wellbeing Centre’s help combat social isolation in older people who live in Havering.

Our Wellbeing Centres promise to give you or your loved one a warm reception, a hot meal, and a day of fun activity. Our minibuses can collect you from home, bring you to the centre, and then return you to your favourite armchair at the end of the day.

Give us a call on 01708 79600, or email hello@tapestry-uk.org for more information about our centres and to book a space. You can read the full story at: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-42329791
